Week Three – Day 5
TODAY’S FAST – After school or work, fast from all media technology including video games, tv, computers, and internet to spend quality time with God and your family.
The human body is so complex and fascinating. I am so thankful for the knowledge God has granted to the medical field, but their knowledge is still very limited. That is why it is still called “medical practice.” Doctors and medical professionals are still trying to understand and gather data on the countless issues and complexities of the human body. Try as they may, they will never be able to create life–only God can create life. There has never been a person that has ever existed that God did not give life to.
Psalm 139 reminds us that God is intimately involved in every life from conception to birth and even to death. Before you took your first breath, while still being formed in your mother’s womb, God knew you and loved you. He has recorded all your days in His book even before any of them ever took place! Every detail, every struggle, every victory, every tear, every celebration has been recorded by Him about your life. Why? Because He loves you with a crazy kind of love. He knew who would be your parents long before they knew, and He knew who would be your children long before you knew. God alone controls those details. He has a plan for every life and that plan includes Him. His ultimate desire is for us all to be a part of His family as His dearly loved children. Thank God today for His amazing gift of life. Treasure it and the lives of others that God has allowed you to journey with. The miracle of life is a gift from God, and He is still the One who gives it and determines its scope for every living being that has ever existed. Praise the Lord of Life today!
Pray for unborn babies; for protection in their mother’s womb; for an end to abortion-on-demand in America; and for babies to be born into homes and families where they are welcomed, loved, and cherished.
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
